The American victory in the Revolutionary War was a collective effort of "The People." Men, women, boys and girls all contributed in any way they could. With the men fighting on the battlefields, boys could join the army as fife, drum or bugle players, or they chould serve as soldiers at the age of 16. Women and girls cooked meals, sewed uniforms and acted as nurses for the soldiers. The United States Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787 by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later ratified by conventions in each state in the name of "The People."
